Get-Together Reflection

I helped with Jennifer's Sophomore/Freshman get-together. I helped by making flyers, putting flyers up in the school, and I supplied some things for the party itself. At the party, I brought the movies, cookies, and popcorn. We watched the movie Anchorman, which was extremely funny. This party was a huge success and there were a lot of people. I regret not bringing more food because we ran out about halfway through the movie. Afterwards, there was a huge mess and everybody left without cleaning up. The mess had to be cleaned up, so Jennifer, me and a few others cleaned up the best we could.

After Helping the Librarians

This project was a great success. I would like to thank the following people who came and helped out on the 18: Lina, Yasi, Lea, Anthea, and Jennifer. They all worked hard. Yasi helped patrons with self check-out, while Anthea and I alternated working the self check-in, located outside. Lea, Lina, and Jennifer all helped sort through damaged books, and label new books. This day was a great success, and we even saw Mrs. Hiranaka, who is a regular volunteer. This first day was fun and went by so fast. I would also like to thank the following people who came in on the 30: Ariel, Milia, and Austin. On this day, Ariel and Milia went through almost all the children's books looking for damage. They also re-shelved books in the children's section. Austin started out labeling books by genre and then helped resupply the scratch paper provided at the library. I started by taking all the old book shelve wires and replacing them with new regular book holders. Overall, this project was a huge success and I would like to set up another opportunity in the near future.

Operation Christmas Child Review

Near the start of winter break, my mom and her class started at clothing drive for a refuge family in Washington. Over the course of a week, all of here students were able to donate tons of clothing and were also able to raise a total of over two hundred dollars. I helped collect money at AHS and then sorted all of the clothing gathered at KR high school. Overall, it was a great experience and I hope that future drives will be just as successful.
